Haushka has now been officially added to the bill of the All Tomorrow's Parties curated by The National festival which will happen at Butlins Holiday Centre, Minehead, England from the 7th-9th December 2012.

Hauschka announces US tour with violinist Hilary Hahn

Hauschka has announced a US tour beginning May 28th in Los Angeles. He’ll be playing a few dates with virtuoso violinist Hilary Hahn, veteran of both the London Symphony Orchestra and the New York Philharmonic. Hauschka will be releasing two 12" records in the coming months that include remixes of his songs by Ricardo Villalobos and Max Loderbauer, as well as by a few other electronic musicians.

Max Richter new Opera ‘SUM’ Opens in London next week

Max Richter has colloborated with the Royal Ballet's Resident Choreographer Wayne McGregor to create a fascinating new chamber opera for the Linbury Studio Theatre. The piece is based on the bestselling novel Sum: Forty Tales From the Afterlives by David Eagleman and is directed by McGregor.

The result is an intriguing vision of a possible journey after death, populated by computers, suburban anterooms and mind-strecthing scenarios that incorporates film, music and performance. Through this use of different mediums, SUM explores an interactive audience experience and takes opera to a whole new level of existence.

Performances run from 23/05/12 to 02/06/12 and tickets can be found here.

130701 Transcendentalists Tour starts TONIGHT

We are excited to announce that FatCat's 'post-classical' imprint 130701 Records will be represented in live venues across Europe in May by Jóhann Jóhannsson, Hauschka and Dustin O'Halloran. Starting TONIGHT in Amsterdam, this stretch of dates also includes a triple headline bill at London's beautiful Barbican Hall on May 18th.

The tour will also coincide with the release of a very limited, tour-only, hand-numbered 12" EP featuring brand new, exclusive works from all three artists. The EP is backed with specially-selected live recordings of special versions and new arrangements of existing pieces.

Special Vashti Bunyan documentary screening and rare live performance this week

Glasgow's great multimedia festival Platform will this week host a special screening of Kieran Evans' feature film From Here To Before - a documentary that tells Vashti Bunyan's astonishing story of reluctant pop fame in the 1970's, a nomadic horse-and-cart adventure, and her eventual dismissal of notoriety and subsequent re-emergence several decades later. The film features rare interviews with Joe Boyd, Robert Kirby, Max Richter and Devendra Banhart. This screening will be accompanied by a Q&A session with Evans and a live performance from Vashti - her first in over a year - with some specially-selected guests. The evening will be hosted by Easterhouse (Glasgow) on April 28th.
